Discovering Lunenburg - RUM!!!

Now there is a little rum distillery in town which is producing a great drop. The reason for this post is that when we first arrived in the port some wag pointed to a curious vessel out on a mooring and told me it was full of rum. I took this as a leg pull and laughed. However, its true. Moored out in the bay is something that looks like a floating hearse and YES, its full of RUM! They put the rum in used Bourbon casks which are scorched inside, this gives the rum flavour. The barrels are stored on the vessel for period of time and the rocking of the boat swirls the rum around the barrels and matures it. They will market it in a few months as rum matured at sea!
