The hull was constructed upside down on temporary frames.  Douglas fir planks epoxy bonded then sheathed in woven glass cloth.  Once the outside of the hull was filled and faired the hull was turned and the temporary frames removed then the inside was sheathed.  This system of construction is called WEST system.  It is light and allows more space inside the hull because there are no ribs and frames taking up valuable accommodation space.
